During the trial that led to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, he had a conversation with Pilate that left pilate confused and asking, “What is truth?”
That has been the question of millions of people for millennia. What is Truth?
Truth is a person (Jesus Christ)
There are many views of truth. In the Christian worldview, truth is a person and that person is called Jesus Christ. Below are some quotes to illustrate that.
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” –Jesus Christ
From that quote, the truth = the way = the life = Jesus Christ.
“You have sent to John and he has testified to the truth.” John 5:33
John, the Baptist, was sent to testify about Jesus and make him know. The truth in John 5:33 means Jesus.
The truth will set you free
“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.“–Jesus Christ
The Truth Sanctifies us
“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” Jesus Christ, in John 17:17
“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” The apostle John.
True Worshipers Worship in Truth
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” John 4:23
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth & Guides us into all truth
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” John 16:13
“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.” John 15:26
